Electronic Arts Games 37735 Editorial Review
NHL 22 for the PlayStation 5 has garnered a mixed reception, reflecting both enjoyment and disappointment among hockey enthusiasts. Many players appreciate the game's graphics and smooth gameplay, praising its ability to provide fun and engaging experiences, especially for fans of hockey. The familiarity of controls offers a nostalgic touch, allowing players to customize settings reminiscent of classic hockey games. The game is also seen as a great value, often purchased at a discounted price, making it accessible for casual gamers. However, critics note that NHL 22 feels more like an incremental update rather than a significant evolution from its predecessor, NHL 21. With minimal changes in gameplay modes and graphics, some longtime fans believe the game does not justify the investment if they already own the previous edition. The addition of updated rosters and some new commentary features were not enough to elevate the overall experience, leading to mixed feelings among those seeking a fresh take on their beloved franchise. While players who are returning after a long hiatus find enjoyment in the game, seasoned fans who expected more significant updates may find themselves unsatisfied. In summary, NHL 22 offers a nostalgic experience with solid graphics and engaging gameplay, though it may not deliver enough innovation for long-time players of the series. **
