Evans Snare Drumheads B13STD Editorial Review
The Evans ST Dry Drumhead has garnered enthusiastic reviews from drummers across various styles, indicating a strong customer reception for this product. Many users have praised it for its ability to produce a crisp, controlled sound that effectively manages overtones right out of the box, allowing drummers to enjoy a fuller sonic experience without relying on additional muffling devices. Players have highlighted the head's versatility, with several mentioning its suitability for genres ranging from jazz and fusion to rock and metalcore. A significant number of reviewers appreciated how the ST Dry head enhanced their snares' performance, such as offering a warm sound with a quick, defined crack on rim shots. Some users even noted the improved sound quality on less expensive snare drums, attributing the magic to the head's design and acoustic properties. Durability also seems to be a strong point, as multiple drummers reported minimal wear and tear even with intense play over several weeks. Reviewers emphasized that despite its thinner profile and dry tone, the head retains vital characteristics like sensitivity and projection, making it an excellent choice for those striving for a specific sound profile, including fans of classic rock styles akin to John Bonham's. However, some feedback suggested that for drummers with specific preferences, the ST Dry might require fine-tuning using products like Moon Gel to achieve the desired sound. Overall, the Consensus is clear: drummers who prioritize sound quality and control are likely to be thrilled with the Evans ST Dry Drumhead. **
