Détails du produit
- What's a guy gotta do to get some freckles? This perennial bestselling favorite from Judy Blume has a fresh new look! More than anything in the world, Andrew Marcus wants freckles. His classmate Nicky has freckles--they cover his face, his ears, and the whole back of his neck. But when Andrew asks Nicky where he got them, Nicky just says he was born with them. Some help he is! That's when Sharon offers Andrew her secret freckle juice recipe--for fifty cents, she promises, Andrew can look just like Nicky. His freckleless days are over! He rushes home to whip up the concoction. Grape juice, vinegar, mustard... But what starts out as a simple freckle juice recipe quickly turns into something disastrous. Andrew is still determined to get his freckles, and to show that pesky Sharon that she doesn't know everything--and he has the perfect solution! Or does he?

Judy Blume Self-Esteem & Self-Reliance Kids' Books Editorial Review
"Freckle Juice" is a heartwarming and humorous children's book by Judy Blume that explores the theme of positive self-image. The story follows Andrew Marcus, a young boy who is unhappy with his appearance and desperately wants freckles like his friend. He tries various methods to achieve freckles, including drinking a distasteful "freckle juice." Through a series of funny and relatable events, Andrew comes to the realization that he should be happy with who he naturally is, rather than trying to be someone he's not. Blume's writing style is honest and candid, making it easy for readers of all ages to relate to the protagonist's journey of self-acceptance. The book is beautifully illustrated with pencil/graphite drawings that allow for a full range of values and create a sense of depth and mood. This, along with the engaging storyline, makes "Freckle Juice" an enjoyable read for children in grades 3-5. Overall, "Freckle Juice" is a highly recommended book for kids, as it not only entertains but also helps them see themselves in a different light and understand the concept of self-image.
