Roland Mixers VR-1HD Editorial Review
The Roland Professional AV VR-1HD AV Streaming Mixer is a great option for those who want a video switcher with audio capabilities, especially if space is an issue. The product is easy to use, but there is a small learning curve. The unit has multiple HDMI inputs and outputs, dataports, and USB drive input. However, it doesn't have any video capture or recording capabilities of its own, and any images and audio files are stored externally via a USB stick. The Roland VR-1HD can be used for a variety of settings including higher education, church or corporate meetings, and personal streaming. The product is compatible with Mac and Panasonic GX80/GX85 cameras. However, integrating with an iMac can be problematic—Roland product support may be needed. Prices for these units have gone up due to supply and demand, but the Roland Professional AV VR-1HD AV Streaming Mixer delivers on its advertised capabilities. ####
