Action & Adventure Editorial Review

Earthquake (Collector's Edition) is a disaster movie that falls short compared to other films of its time, such as The Towering Inferno. While it does have good special effects for its time, the use of animated blood and exaggerated destruction scenes make the movie feel cheesy and unrealistic. The story and characterizations are stale, relying on tropes and poorly written female characters who require rescue from men. Despite its flaws, the film does feature some good performances, particularly from George Kennedy as the police officer. The special effects throughout the movie are outstanding and memorable. Overall, Earthquake (Collector's Edition) may appeal to fans of classic disaster movies, but it lacks a compelling story and memorable characters.
