THQ Games 49327 Editorial Review

**** Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance has garnered a largely positive reception from fans of real-time strategy (RTS) gameplay, particularly those who have previously enjoyed Total Annihilation. The game is lauded for its complexity and depth, providing players with extensive strategic options that surpass other offerings in the genre. Users appreciate the ability to maneuver around the terrain effectively, taking advantage of elements like fog of war and varying landscapes to execute surprise attacks, which are often deemed impossible in other RTS games like Starcraft and Warcraft III. Critics of the game argue that it lacks a compelling storyline and that its campaign and skirmish modes hold some flaws. However, players emphasize that the true enjoyment of Supreme Commander lies in its multiplayer mode, where tactical diversity shines against human opponents. Many reviewers noted their discontent with certain gameplay elements, such as the balance between factions and the over-reliance on artillery, yet overall, the game's core experience remains stimulating and engaging. Furthermore, customers pointed out the necessity for players to ensure their computer systems meet the game's requirements before purchase. This highlights the importance of appropriate hardware to fully appreciate the game's mechanics. While some dissenting voices exist regarding performance issues, many concise reviews recommend the game, particularly at its current pricing, as a worthwhile investment for fans of the genre. **
